Zagreb, CRO -
Betfair punters saw a miraclous trading opportunity in today's PBZ Zagreb Open...or so they thought. Those betting blind with merely a scoreboard for information were pummelled by knowledgable courtsiders who could see for themselves what was unfolding on court. Long odds on favourite Guillermo Canas' price drifted alarmingly during the first set. Rumours were rife on the
BF Forum that Canas needed the extra money and was retiring from the game soon.
The truth though was later revealed in all it's glory. Canas had watched his left leg fall off during the warm-up and bravely battled through even holding his serve a few times. However it wasn't long before another problem emerged. Canas' price continued drifting as courtsiders watch his right arm also fall off @ 4-2 up in the first set. After a 3 minute timeout doctors successfully re-attached his right arm and Canas carried on playing. His left leg is still unattached but doctors hope to re-attach it in time for next week.
Canas went on to lose the match in 3 sets, a tremendous effort.
