As the Drogs fight their way through their current injury crisis in this week of the Setanta Cup Final, the League Cup match against Rovers tomorrow night provides manager Paul Doolin with a real headache in that further injuries were picked up on Friday in Waterford and it is almost certain that this match will see some of the Drogs Under 21's and Under 17's make their Senior debut at United Park.

Stephen Bradley, the vital cog in the Drogs midfield left the field at the RSC with an ankle injury. Paul Keegan is also suffering from a hamstring strain. Stephen Gray can be considered doubtful with a knee problem, while Ollie Cahill is doubtful for Saturday's Final , let alone tomorrow night. Keeper Miko and Garto have been playing through the pain barrier when they should be taking complete rest. Apart from that, if we consider the importance of Saturday's Final for the Club, tomorrow's match will give fans an ideal opportunity to see our under-age prospects in action. Of the Under 17's in their very successful debut season in the Drogheda United colours, Cian Byrne, Peter McMahon, Kevin McCann, Gary McGrane and Robbie Craig look destined for greater things, football-wise while AAron Timmons and John Russell are capable operators. So, its a different and important type of match to look forward to for Drogs fans in this momentous Setanta Week.

SHAMROCK ROVERS INCIDENTS

The Board of Drogheda United regret the incident which happened on Crosslanes after last night's match where damage was caused to the Shamrock Rovers team bus. This incident which was caused by persons who were neither supporters of Drogheda United, nor did they attend the match. We condemn this kind of behavior and wish Shamrock Rovers well in the rest of the competition.
