LeBlanc will look to get back on track after giving up 10 runs (nine earned) and 18 hits in 10 1/3 innings over his last two starts. The 33-year-old threw five innings of two-run ball in a 5-3 win over the Angels on June 11.
Heaney will pitch on an extra day’s rest in the opener vs. Seattle following his second-shortest outing of the season, when he allowed six runs over 3 1/3 frames in Boston. His shortest start of '18 came in his previous visit to Safeco on June 11.
Roark will be happy to turn the calendar page from the month of June, when he posted a 6.08 ERA in six games (five starts). His most recent outing against the Phillies was encouraging, however, as he gave up two runs (one earned) in six innings.
The lefty has been an effective fill-in this season. Last time out, he held the Angels to three hits and a run over four innings in a 4-2 Red Sox win. Johnson looks forward to batting in D.C. He hit 15 homers for the Florida Gators.
